Event Details
The AGM will be held on Wednesday 8th September in EM318. The AGM will review the events held in late 2009 and 2010 as well as reviewing all the behind the scenes undertakings of the AUES. Nominations will be requested for committee positions before the AGM and voting for positions will take part on the day. All AUES members are welcome to attend and nominate themselves for the 2011 committee. Note: If you are considering nominating yourself for a position on committee it is essential you understand the role and demands of the rewarding position on the AUES committee. Check out meet the committee and talk to these good looking people at AUES events to hear what really happens behind the scenes of three hour BBQs and pub crawls with over 2000 people on them.
Note: All committee members are expected to attend meetings, check their emails daily, and help out at all events. This relates to about 1-2 hours of work in a normal week for general committee members, and 3-4 hours in the week prior to an event + the time for setting up, running and finishing of the event.
President – 1 position available Runs meetings and is the central contact for all AUES activities.
Vice President – 1 position available Secondary contact for the AUES in the absence of the President. They set up and manage educational events including Careers Night and Mock interviews.
Secretary – 1 position available Maintains minutes for meetings, and helps the President control and run meetings.
Treasurer – 1 position available Maintains AUES accounts, keeps track of receipts and takes care of the cash box and cheque book.
Equity Officer – 1 position available Manages specific issues related to minorities and equality in Engineering. Takes care of conflict resolution between members and any complaints or issues.
Sponsorship Officer – 1 position available Organises and writes sponsorship package, contacts prospective businesses and distributes sponsorship package.
IT Officer – 1 position available Maintain AUES website, mailing list website, Facebook group, Twitter account and Google group.
Publicity Officer – 2 positions available Manage all publicity including advertising for events. Includes creating Facebook events and making and distributing posters.
General Committee – 6 positions available The role of a general committee member is to attend meetings, have an active input into the direction of the club and events, and to assist in organisation of events.
