O'Week
In Orientation Week (or O'Week), the AUES has it's own stall down on the Barr Smith lawns. Here, students new and old can grab the annual membership, pub crawl shirts (get in fast, they sell even faster), O'Party tickets, or even just grab a AUES show-bag packed with goodies.

O'Party
Held on the Tuesday night of O'Week, O'Party is the first real AUES event of the year. It can serve as an introduction to first year students of Adelaide University culture, in particular, "How to party 101". O'Party is coming into it's fourth year in 2012, and the combination of cheap drinks and loud music has proven to be a winning combination for all involved.

The Pub Crawl
The AUES premier event and biggest pub crawl in the Southern Hemisphere (unofficially the biggest in the world). The pub crawl had grown to a massive 3000 person, same shirt event in 2011. The growth continues and in 2012, 4000 shirts are available. Do not be mistaken, this is usually the biggest night of the year.

The BBQs
There is one BBQ held each term, free for all AUES members. There are free snags, salads, soft drinks, beer and punch! If you're not already a member, signing up on the day for $5 will allow you to join in with the all-you-can-eat all-you-can-drink BBQ, and also gets you the remaining BBQs for that year free.

Tug of War
An event that was not seen at the University for many a year prior to 2005, revived thanks to the vision of Julian O'Shea. The traditional tug-of-war is given a unique AUES twist with the contest taking place on opposite banks of the River Torrens. For the uninitiated, the river is most notably known for its algal blooms, horrid smell and general polluted state.
It's become tradition for the Meds to face off with the Engies, fueled by their history old bitter feud. In 2011, President Henry Harch thought it would be a good idea to get the defence forces involved as well, as separate competitors. It wasn't. They destroyed us.

The Quiz Night
The Quiz night is always very popular with students on campus, with tables being booked out well before the event. The night is run like most quiz nights but it is made unique by things such as night-long scavenger hunts, full drink packages, and easily bribed markers. Oh so very easily bribed.

Careers Night
An opportunity to network with companies over various disciplines in a relaxed atmosphere. The addition of the Careers Night to the AUES Calendar was in 2008, and was a very successful event with 20 companies and 300 students in attendance. Since then, it has become an annual event which keeps improving with time, now being a great opportunity to get a head start on that ever-so-important work experience.

Cocktail Night
The Cocktail Night is an end of year celebration where students can enjoy a range of delicious hors d'oeuvres as well as cocktails, daiquiris and premium beers. Over 200 students attended the inaugural event in 2009, 300 in 2010, and don't even ask about 2011. It is our only event with a dress-code requirement, but that doesn't stop it being one of the biggest parties of the year.
